PostPost by: GRAHAM BOND » Tue Dec 24, 2013 9:40 pm

All,have just bought another +2 at 66,the last one I had was a 1968 when I was 20!
I bought it off the Hollies drummer ,who lived in a cottage on a hill near Colne!
Anybody has it ?
Question, what year did the bonnet "bulge "start, and why
This car has weber's,with a flat bonnet
Thanks

Hi Graham and welcome back from the wilderness (and Happy Christmas).
I have a late '68 +2 that still has the bonnet bulge although fitted with webers. They were originally made to take the stromberg carbs hence it is known as the stromberg bulge (not contagious I beleive)
Good luck with the '71 and would love to see some pics.
Regards,
Kev.

Welcome back to the fold Graham. I'm sure you'll find the folks here to be friendly and helpful. Some are of the age that they won't quite be able to remember who the Hollies were and some that have never heard of them. :D :

Kev- Actually the bulge was contagious. Your car caught one even though it wasn't afflicted with the stromburgs. They were a side effect of the dreaded "what ever's left on the parts shelf" syndrome.

I will leave it as it is without getting a bulge!
