Hi, I have had an elan s4 dressed as a sprint for almost 20 years. Known as "the luff" because my German mother in law (no hex jokes) called it a shoe horn, and it stuck. Rebuilt the engine when I bought it. Every piston had at least one ring broken, but the bores were fine. Never understood that. Moved from France to Netherlands and took the Luff along. Great Lotus club there, several outings with them, some to UK.
Moved to Oz seven years ago and imported the luff. That was only worth it for the love of the car!
Done a fair number of miles overall but currently got gearbox out due to massive oil leak and got it rebuilt. It's quite a nice 5-speed from a Sierra, but lever extension, speedo and fitting need sympathy. Should be back on the road in a week or so.

Hi Gordon, thanks for welcome. See you have a roll bar. I got mine, with side bars etc. from Spider UK. This was one of the many amusements (along with the 4-point harnesses) when importing to Oz. Not standard, no engineers certificate, therefore jump through hoops. So I jumped. Thanks again. Don.
