Out in the country a couple of days ago and came across a farmer moving some stock down the road.

Not uncommon around here, if they're going the same direction I slowly make my way through them otherwise I could be stuck behind for miles.
As these, rather large steers, were coming towards me I pulled over to wait.
As they trotted past, slobbering, drooling, and looking well down on me (!), I became aware one had stopped at the end of the car and was lining up by the boot to climb on board.....

Thought, "time to move" and when I started up it took fright and cleared off, fortunately as it probably weighed about as much as the Elan.
The farmer herding them came by on his quad bike laughing and commented " that was close"!
Not quite sure what's so attractive about the rear end of my car, doesn't look like any part of a cow to me !
When I got home it took a moment to work out that the mess on the boot lid was where his drooling nose had made contact......yuck !

Thank your lucky stars the Elan was between was yourself and that steer. Can't be many cows in that area or maybe the steers just don't care or aren't smart enough to know the difference!

Is NZ beef juicer than Aus beef?

You'll have to Google that !
Wish I could afford to try all the different types in order to find out .........
As long as they're all grass fed, not grain fed.

how does the aged beef compare? 4 vs 12 yr? like wine, does the juicy beef age better.

from my early years working under two German chefs, this confirms it.
I practice drying with salt every year in fall, and have found coffee and chocolate ground with a bit of chilli peppers and the salt makes for some good eating.!
For wet, I marinade in Maple Syrup, but then freeze, the crystals when freezing opens up the beef, again, delicious.
