…and don't get me started on the reparations that the 100% pure Homo sapiens owe those with Neanderthal DNA. Talk about an almost total wipe out of your ancestors.

An attack on civilian infrastructure with the certainty of civilian deaths is nothing to celebrate.
It's time leaders from all countries talked about bringing an end to this by negotiation not by military escalation!

David

You misunderstood me, one death either military or civilian is one too many.

It seems others have tried and failed , maybe you should have a word with Adolf Putin and negotiate with him to give the Ukraines their land back ?

Ashley,
The Kertch Bridge is for the Military to arrive in Usurped Ukraine.
Putin does not want peace. He wants to return to the "Old Russian USSR".
Please have a look at the Traffic that goes across the Kertch Bridge to supply Logistics to USURPED Ukraine.
Rich Russians who go their for holiday arrive in their private Jets.

I am in close contact with two Ukrainian Families (12 individuals by now) here in Germany since April, as they live in Apartments that I let. They fled Mariupol in the early days of the war and have lost everything there, as their houses and there workplaces no longer exist. What has impressed me from day one is their optimism and positive mindset: They are determined to go back as soon as possible, although they have excellent opportunities to have a good life in Europe (the two couples are all engineers). The kids have picked up german language pretty quickly and are attending middle and high school. They are looking forward to attend university here, but they definitely see their future in Ukraine too. If only every 10th Ukrainian mindset is like these wonderful people, I have no doubt that Ukraine will succeed. The burning Kertch Bridge will, in IMHO, send the right messages to Russia.

@phil1800

Good on you, I take my hat off to you.

I watched this thread grow, when it should have been binned.

I work in Kazakhstan, if fact this is my second time there, the last being 2006 thru 2009. I have lots of RUSSIAN and UKRAINIAN friends. I have been to both Moscow and Kiev.

First off, this is a war made by politicians and not the people on the streets, although like anywhere, propaganda will sway people. Aka Falklands/Iraq (remember that Kh*nt Blair and Thatcher who used it to stir jingoistic nostalgia) a lot of people died and for what, to win an election. I have no words for the brave deeds of those involved, but not the politicians, they are lice.

I have a friend who didn’t come back to work as he has joined the Ukrainian army, I have a friend who thinks he may be drafted when he gets home to Russia. Ordinary people, just like you and I.

I have Ukrainian friends in Karkhiv and some, as Phil says, whom made it to Germany, their lives have been wrecked, yet I don’t feel bad towards the Russian guys I know, as let’s be honest, what can they do. In fact what you you do in the same circumstance?

Sooner it’s over the better for everyone, it’s awful. Don’t give me any of the bollocks about bad people, it’s politicians who are at it.

Sorry for the rant.

Many thanks Mark,
Imho you are spot on. Problem Politicians sitting back in their bunkers destroying peoples lives and for what.
We need to talk about this, sad times.

Here, here, Mark!
The enemy is war, not the people on either side. Second in line are the politicians and there propagandists. Very sorry for the good people caught up in this and despise those who are feeding arms into this fray.

It seems so John,
The Russians are being pushed back to where they belong each day.
I hope progress for humanity and try to reduce dictators
