I think it would all be very enjoyable with a load of close racing were it not for the Mercedes presence. Ignore them and it's all nip and tuck in the mid field. Yes it's boring if you concentrate on the winners but behind them it's anybody's guess. Even Verstappen was shown to have feet of clay at Monza. I read somewhere you'd have got 2000:1 on a Gasly win before Sunday.

The only thing new here re "dominance" by a team is the name, it has been Ferrari, Williams, Lotus, Tyrell etc over the decades and then someone else comes along.

Its just that we have this internetty thing (which I now wish I had never invented) where everyone can weigh in on everything - in the past it was a huffy letter to a motoring magazine, usually dismissed as pish posh by the cognoscenti.

Just like on here. :D

Maybe it IS time for a reverse grid. :D :D

Brisca style :D

For those not in the UK Brisca is our quirky take on stock car racing..

Nothing stock about it, contact is positively encouraged and the faster drivers start at the back sometimes a lap down..

Familiar with Brisca/Spedeworth having watched their fun when I lived there. Not suggesting they bash and bang as did the Briscas etc but starting a race based on where you finished the previous race - but in reverse order could be interesting.

Doubt it would work in F1 though...unless we stick them on 1/4 mile ovals. :D :D :D

The cars -if you can even call them that- are way too hideous-looking nowadays for me to even try to watch a race. Yes I know, it's all functional aerodynamics, but that doesn't make them any easier on the eyes.

Not sure about handicapping Mercedes but the rest of the ‘peloton’ seems to have done a good job with handicapping themselves today. Thank goodness nobody’s hurt as far as I’m aware.

The red on the (Mercedes) safety car is a tribute to Ferrari on the 1K GP.

Hamilton proves himself the better driver again by driving right around the outside of Bottas like he wasn’t there!

Mighty decent of them!
Still seems like they have too much money and clout.

Does anyone watch Moto GP? Now that is exciting racing! If only F1 could copy one they have done........

I only watch it. Same as F1, I don't follow.
WEC is also a blast, though similar to F1 as far as teams with biggest bucks...

Supermoto is real. As all has to do with drivers/riders and the race. Little to do with who has spent the most monies.

And WRC like Moto Hare scrambles offer some more danger.

Motorcycle Trials is what I enjoy doing

Thing is, MotoGP been a bit like F1 with Hamilton / Mecedes for a number of years - Marquez enters, Marquez wins. It's only interesting this year because he's 'off sick' with a broken arm. I must say though that watching the Moto3 'destruction derby' style of riding climb up through Moto2 and spread a bit of its spirit into M. GP has been very welcome (for a spectator anyway).

I do wonder, if statistics where accurate.
Based on all factors, who the best driver is.
If the cars were reliable in the 60’s, 70’s etc, and car constructors equivalent...
No doubt the Britt Hamilton has had great success with Mercedes.
He bought a AC from my neighbour a few years back. Neat kid that Lewis.
