Would someone explain what a "bank holiday" is? Being from the U.S. I have no idea. thanks.

Also because of COVID I am staying at home. I have groceries delivered and have long hair and despite 2 miles per day on my treadmill am gaining weight. My doctor said I must be careful as due to my cardiac problems COVID would likely kill me. I hope an effective vaccine will be available by November. Stay safe all my Lotus friends.

It's a national holiday in the UK. Where basically majority of business are closed, including banks which is where the name originates from.

So includes things like Easter, Christmas but other days like like may day, spring bank holiday, August bank holiday.

The dates originated many years ago, when there was no time off in London and it is said they were the dates of regular cricket matches that a then governor of the Bank of England played some role, and Christmas got added in after Dickens wrote his 'Christmas Carol'.

Bank holidays came into existence in 1871 when the banker-turned-politician Sir John Lubbock introduced the Bank Holidays Act.

I've heard them referred to that way in North Carolina, with "bank holiday" and "federal holiday" used interchangeably to mean the ones everybody recognizes.

I have to bleed my +2 brakes. I have to do it myself. I could enlist my wife for assistance. That would certainly be fun.

I often have to use my wife for bleeding brakes, which is ok when it's her car not so good for my cars.

I just did the fluid on my +2 last week. I've fitted "speed bleeders" which are bleed nipples with in built one way valves. So it becomes a one person job of just pumping the pedal.

I did get my 5 year old daughter to help by closing the nipples while I had the pedal down for last stage of each brake just to be sure.
