Club News & Events - KEEP MADEIRA DRIVE OPEN – PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION
KEEP MADEIRA DRIVE OPEN – PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION
Brighton Council closed Madeira Drive during the Covid 19 pandemic to allow people to use it for exercise.
Now a small minority are lobbying to ban all motor vehicles permanently. This would mean the end of all motor events on Madeira Drive and would mean the end of the Frosts Brighton Speed Trials as well as other events.
Please SIGN the petition to keep Madeira Drive Brighton open to vehicle access. If it’s not kept it open we will lose the venue for the London to Brighton Veterans Run, the Frosts National Speed Trials, Ace Cafe Reunion meet and a number of other car and motor cycle events that have been held there for up to 115 years! It would also mean no vehicles being able to access Brighton & Hove Motor Clubs Headquarters and members would not be able to drive to the clubhouse on a Wednesday night which would present all sorts of problems!
Brighton and Hove has suffered enormous economic damage owing to lockdown and needs all the help it can get to recover. Please sign the petition to stop this madness and ensure the future of the club and its activities.
This ePetition runs from 07/06/2020 to 22/07/2020 and you can find it at:

as of 03/July it was 5700 to open, ~3000 to close it permanently.
