ebay issues

PostPost by: gjz30075 » Thu Jun 25, 2020 2:46 pm

I'm in the US and in the past, I've had no problem contacting sellers in the UK, through ebay's 'contact seller'.
Now, I see a password is needed and when entered (my normal password for ebay), I get a message
that it doesn't match. Has there been a change in ebay policy? Has anyone else have this issue?

A bit of an update: This is being tried on a Win10 machine. I just found it works fine on a Win 7 machine.
However, it had worked in the past on both machines so it looks like it is now an issue in Win 10.

It's been awhile since I bought off of ebay, but I thought you had to be logged in to contact sellers. I'm on Linux tho.

I am logged in. And by going to 'ebay.co.uk', I don't lose my log in. However, UK ebay now wants a
log in and it doesn't like my normal ebay password. There seems to be a disconnect in Win 10.

I think is 'https...." on both machines based on a picture of a lock in front of the address. This is for both
US and UK ebay sites

So, is there anyone in the US, using 'ebay.co.uk' site, using Win 10, and able to 'contact seller' (I haven't
tried bidding yet) and NOT being prompted for a password?

I had all sorts of issues getting Ebay to work previously - changed to Opera web browser and does the job. Is very similar to Google in how it works. I think you can transfer saved pages etc across when you make the change.

I'm on Windows 7 though.

Worth a try?
