I'm a cyclist and didn't know it's World Bicycle Day on June 3. But it was only started two years ago.

W. Kootenays - post some pictures if you get a chance.

Mike- what brand is your bike with the Italian colors? BTW, I 've never seen a fork with 2 colors. I like it.

I'll post some bike pictures in a day or so. I've got some bikes and frames around here.

Not the best photo of our bikes, mines a Fuji Altimira/Geox replica. Location: Jenny Lake Lodge, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA. Afternoon storm gathering...
My son believes if one is going to ride, ride for beer, stop a a nice establishment and dress to impress. I did my best to raise him well.

He's much better looking than I am.
Cheers!

The brand is Torelli , a US company who sells branded Italian made frames . This particular bike is one of 100 20th anniversary Torellis , custom built to customer spec by master builder Antonio Mondonico.

My bike for shopping and commuting once a week (80km) is a 1982 Holdsworth. It is still going strong!

But I have a weekend bike for speed, a 1986 Peugeot Ventoux. It has slightly shorter wheel base and has the gift of being very scary when going too fast downhill. I'll try and post photos later.

It must have been 56 years ago that I took the leap of faith and rode without stabilizers for the first time . . . I remember it so clearly, the where, the when and how.
Can't think of a time when I've not ridden but many years ago we realised the roads were on longer fun so took to the woods and tracks.
It got harder and less fun but this has brought a real grin back to my face.

Yep, it's easy to have a pain in the rear end early in the riding season. :D

Here's my Gary Fisher mountain bike and Felt F1C road bike. There is also a Holdsworth racing frame from the 70s in the basement.

Cycled all my life, on and off, never went for the top of the line/trendy/foreign muck - by the time I got around to using aluminium bits everyone else had moved on to carbon fiber/ceramics/gossamer :D

Life was simpler back in the 1960s.

A couple of favourites were my "message" bike which I used to deliver bits of dead meat to local carnivores

and my Flying Scot which I bought with the proceeds from those deliveries, though mine was BRG and on a 'fix' (couldn't afford those fancy gear things)

Slowlotus - I like both of your bikes, especially the Flying Scot. I went to the Flying Scot shop in Glasgow in the early 70s. Rattray's of Glasgow I think it was called.

It was indeed Rattrays - the Flying Scot was the Holy Grail back then.
