There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

A few days ago there was a lengthy and rather nasty pissing contest on Facebook on this subject, complete with personal name calling. Nasty enough that Fb stepped in and closed the topic... no more posts allowed.
I find it difficult to believe that just a few days later, and totally 'coincidentally', a similar subject appears on Hemmings.
Personally, I think it would be best for all if no one touched it with a ten foot pole. And please, don't bring it here.
Regards,
Tim Engel

Someone at Hemmings was required to fill space, so they did, more or less.
I have a Lotus and at times I have had more than one, so that would mean I owned more than one Lotus.
And as for the remark about the MINI, that is to distinguish the current generation from the original Mini. Whoever did that piece...

As a Latin scholar I have a lot to say on the topic of what words ending in "us" pluralize to but I'll keep my trap shut. Suffice it to say that I agree with the Hemmings article

Lotus themselves wrote on this matter in the official factory organ 'Lotus World', back in the late 1960s.

Most useful part of that 10 minutes was finding out my Federal is called a Lotus Elan + 2 but the later full zoot model is a Lotus Plus 2 ‘S’. That was new to me.

Yes you will see I always talk about my Plus 2 as just that and not my Elan +2, I also talk about my Elan and never my "baby" Elan
Lotus "naming" is about as inconsistent as Lotus "factory" originality just adds to the joy
cheers
