Sometimes the media will under report a crisis, sometimes it will exaggerate one. Believe what you want but right now the health care and hospital systems are overwhelmed with Covid-19 cases. At least here in the Northeast, US.

Seniorchristo summed it up
Simply the reports from and about ny are incredible. This video shows something else.
I was hoping for some understanding of big city stuff. As our town of 800, and the area which is Canadas highest political expense limit area. Or great terrain vs population, people are spread out in remote cabins. And asked to stay in place. Which is very fine with me.

Girlfriend's mother is a nurse with Veterans Affairs (VA). I'm about 2 hours north of NYC so out of the worst of it but they are overwhelmed down there. They're starting to transport patients to hospitals in upstate NY because the system in the City can't keep up.

She also says that they aren't even bothering testing anymore. Makes sense - it's so widespread now that we're well, well out of the containment phase. We have been for weeks. All that remains is mitigation. So even if the numbers of cases start slowing down - that may be misleading, because we're testing less.

Anyways. Interesting times. I haven't left the house in nearly 2 weeks other than to take my Elan for a spin one day and to get groceries another day.

Trump is busy turning the US into a pariah state by reneging on existing orders already half delivered. To close friends / allies Canada and Germany no less. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-52161995

Presumably standard business practice for him so no problem!

The slack will (eventually) be taken up by China etc and US reputation will take another major hit. They must be rolling in the aisles in Beijing.

There is a story about French and Canadian Masks being usurped for cash in Dollars on the Tarmac by USA.
I hope it's fake news, maybe Trump can enlighten us.
Alan
I saw that the USA paid 3 or 4 times in cash for the 3 million Masks

I am convinced its all a big bank government ploy
There is zero reason for this in 2020

If we dont see the USA government taking over 3m, Dow, Kimberly, Ford etc in the near future...

You might not think different of Trump, 5 min in
My youngest 6 year old boy finds humour this sort of thing, the 15 year old cant believe it. The. 20 and 25 year olds could care less about it.

I'm with your 15 Y.O. That is so clumsy, crude and poorly staged it is embarrassing even to watch.

Awful stuff.

I do think that the fellow Trump pushed over the desk could well have been injured had it gone badly (and he isn't an actor or wrestler).
