Interesting comment in Post 6 about the early days working at Lotus.
Mind you, it could be that Bob, being a Kiwi, wouldn't have put up with that sort of nonsense.

I don’t think that was a Lotus thing, per se.
In the 1950s and early 60s staff still tipped their hats to bosses, no matter the industry. You still had folk going into the City in bowler hats with rolled umbrellas too. It was a different time in the UK.
Of course, it all changed during the 60s!
