Our daughter was out in a club with her friend on 15/3/20. Yesterday that friend lost her 90 year old grandmother to Covid19. The friends mother has it too and has apparently struggled to breathe. She is home with her daughter. I don’t think there are any underlying health conditions in the mother but her daughter has had a lung problem. I’d guess grief can affect the immune system??

The grandmother was apparently taken away and will be cremated and they won’t be allowed to go to that. The mother and daughter live less than a mile from us. Think this has finally brought it home to my youngest daughter who is finally taking things seriously and who is now staying away from us.

The numpties out partying for Spring Break will likely start losing loved ones maybe then they’ll take it seriously.

Thanks for your posting. It gives us all more insight into what is going on behind the scenes. The information about your sister shows just how seroius the government is taking this.
It is sobering to know that you and your staff are putting yourselves at risk to help out. I never considered about your profession being involved.
Hope you all stay safe. Thoughts are with you.
Thanks to you and all people keeping the wheels moving.
I am glad i am retired as i was involved with emergency power and was all about the country and abroad.

Cheers Mike

An interesting article concerning China "celebrations" about there now being more infections / deaths outside China than in. How it is now attempting to take the moral high ground (and presumably political influence) by offering medics and equipment to other countries. How kind!

Back on the subject...

Mercedes AMG F1 have developed a breathing aid to help fight the virus - isn’t that fantastic of them?

What is interesting is Germany has (had) 4 times the infection rate of UK yet only a third of the deaths.

I think in Germany they do more controls and better equiped. I think in the UK they have less than 250 Ventilators

The assumption in the UK is that many more people have (had) the virus, but without widespread testing (as in Germany) they're not in the figures. If you only test very ill people in hospital your mortality rate will be much higher. The ventilators available to the NHS is supposedly 8000 with plans for another 8000...

I believe deep breathing, and doing ones best to eliminate stress!

Another good point, for those of us using some delightful scotch to cleanse the throat.
Dark beer has more probiotics than those damn pills.

More drinking, less talking i guess
