This CBC article may be of interest. Since we have here (stuck with?) in Canada the monarchy as part of our system, below are comments re Harry and Meghan moving here, and/or as potential Gov. General.
(nothing against our present engineer / astronaut GG, though word is she was not particularly thrilled with the security part that goes with the position)

Maybe Harry could rationalize still part of ?The Firm? and keep some of his benefits...

I recall my neighbour saying when living in the heavily forested country after Princess Diana died: ?she would have had a better life living here on [this] road...?

I have not yet given permission for them to move to my province so this all may be moot.

Special new year deal just for the dominions (ex).

Tell ya what - just for today - can't say fairer than this. -
Must be your lucky day.
How about if we throw in a few more dukes and earls as a job lot? And a couple of surplus princesses.
Even cough for the post and package.

(Seller does not accept returns.)

It's all good. Cant wait to purchase some SussexRoyal pyjamas. At least they aren't thinking of selling a Lingerie line which is the usual ex- celebrity business venture. Hopefully they're knickerbocker and longjohn style. Maybe someone should suggest to them a SussexRoyal line of remanufactured classic car parts.

They may change their minds, the New York Times has just advised

"Many Canadians are giddy at the prospect that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be moving to Canada, injecting some razzle dazzle to the sprawling, bone-chillingly cold country."

It is indeed bone-chillingly cold but once we crawl into our igloos and warm them up with our whale oil lamps things do improve a little.

PS, I braved the (bone-chilling) cold today and quizzed some Canadians on this subject, none were giddy.
