How about a pipe from the UK to Australia? The Australians are good at mining!

Seriously, my niece and nephew are suffering from the smoke in Sydney. The world needs to do more to prevent/reverse climate change, but it needs to be done via practical measures. Some things are straightforward others are more technical. I've seen some energy efficiency/carbon saving measures where vast amounts of money have been spent on flawed ideas.
