Jim Clarks Elan on TV??

PostPost by: Grizzly » Wed Aug 02, 2017 6:15 pm

Did anyone catch Celebrity Antiques Road Trip Series 6: 6. Zoe Ball and Ian Waite 7.00 2/8/2017 BBC2 (UK)? flicking through the channels and spotted a rather interesting car :)

How did they use such a car and not mention it's heritage?

Whats the apparent nastiness in front of the door on the Elan?? Looks like what you would expect in an American parking lot from the average monster pickup and SUV's.

At the end it says Classic cars supplied by Great Escape Cars and the decal in front of the door looks suspiciously like the company logo.

I wounder if they arranged to borrow the car of the owner or if they own the car themselves??

It's a "Borders reivers " motor club badge, which was Jim Clark's initial Scottish racing team pre-Lotus. Probably looks worse from a distance.

Richard, i assumed it was the company logo as i can't find any pictures of 977NUR with it on and if it was Clarks racing club you would think it would be a permanent fixture?? I'm sure your right as it does look like it.
