Mr Clegg has advertised his +2 for sale through the Club Lotus magazine in the current issue. Probably the worst advert I have ever read.

EDIT; it should be noted that John's advert in Club Lotus News is very humorous and pretty much states that he doesn't want to sell the car before Castle Combe at the end of May unless somebody rips his arm off with a wedge load of cash. Plenty of time to bring the subject up with your wife or partner and gain prior permission. John is giving various options for the specification of the car on handover, either keeping most of the upgrades that John has engineered or putting back nearer to standard, whatever your taste may be. Hardly an old wreck.

No,the ABS will be left in situ,I've decided to utilise the Focus ABS on the Minor,and it will not really be up for sale til after I've done Coombe ( that's why it's ?20,000 ) and I'll need the ATB diff more in the Minor than the Plus2.

When I first read this, I figured Alan had lost the plot. Then I saw it was for/about John and figured Alan was taking a piss.

I realise, we don't have a section for friends to give other friends grief. Just for the fun of it. Since the for sale section is to post your car, and it isn't Alan's car for sale, I will move this post to Free Parking.

Sorry for posting in the wrong section, I should have put the topic in free parking so that people would have a clue what the post was about in that it was meant to wind John up a little, but not meant to be in any way offensive.

It all made perfect sense to me last night whilst I was sitting enjoying a good read of the latest Club Lotus News and noticed John's advert which is rather long winded and humorous. It seemed to me that what he was saying was "Don't buy this car because I haven't finished with it yet", so I thought I would help put people off the car until after Castle Combe in May.

I would like to thank John for appearing to take it in good part, I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing as many +2's as possible at Castle Combe and meeting up once again with people from these forums.

Will the hair-dryer supercharger and detachable_in_flight steering wheel be included?

Funny you should say that because that was my most scariest moment ... not placing the steering rack u/j bolt in the channel ...was cruising at about 65 in the country and pulled on the steering wheel to pull the seat forward a tad .... the steering wheel stopped being attached to the rack.... most memorable time..
