I would be very interested in the car, send me a pm for details, where is the car located?
These cars fascinate me and are irresistible, dead easy to restore and simple to maintain.

Beautiful little car. Makes an Elan seem extravagantly luxurious.

Fancy it - oh yes! Afford it???

yes you are right.....compared to the elan, it is a simple car, but very effective design....[witness its racing success].....great balance and handling, low drag and weight, everything is very accessible/detachable, and even a twincam will fit in it [however, someone with long legs won't]!!!!

btw, this one is not an early round tube with period racing history, so is affordable......[also NOT a 'barn find']!!

I'd quite fancy one, at the moment I'm looking for an interesting Elan for sympathetic restoration as part of my slowing down from the high speed world of locks and handles into gentle retirement. Mark Kempson has a very interesting +2 that has piqued my interest, but at circa ?20k it's a little too rich for a restoration project, so the question is how much for a G4, what has it got and what does it need?

I'm not a time waster and will make a decision quickly, so don't tease us, let's have some proper photos and a full description.

Many thanks
Kindest regards

hi alan
I am not teasing anyone.....some members on here have been helpful to me, so I thought they might appreciate an opportunity to pre-empt a listing on carandclassic or evilbay, and avoid a competitive bidding situation.......and I might avoid timewasters and tyrekickers......

this is a lotus elan forum, not an 'any cars for sale' site [although lotus and ginetta have a lot in common] , so I invited interested parties to pm me.....

g4s rarely come up for sale and I think are quite sought after, so I would expect a lot of interest from the wider motoring fraternity if and when it goes on the open market...

thanks

A very rare and desirable car, but I'm sure you know that Fred. Replicas fetch ?25k in race trim, and an original twincam engine car fetched 6 figures 2 years ago, but it did have some race history.

Anybody over about 5ft 10inches doesn't fit!
