Oulton Park Gold Cup 2016

The Oulton Park Cup will once again return on August bank holiday weekend (27-29th August) and it returns with an amazing racing line up featuring the Derek Bell Trophy, which recalls the Gold Cups of the 1970s, in which Formula 5000 and Formula 2 cars regularly competed for the prestigious trophy. Historic Formula 3 and Formula Ford machines will be amongst the other single-seater categories in action. GTs and tin tops will also compete, from 1970s sports-prototypes in the Martini Trophy, to the frequently sideways Lotus Cortinas and Mini Coopers in the Historic Touring Cars.
Away from the track, a large military display with vehicles and a Spitfire will feature, fire breathing Group B rally cars will take to the special stage, air displays will thrill from the sky, live jazz music will play throughout the weekend and, as always, a huge collection of special cars will take over every inch of our infield, this and loads more family entertainment will make this years? Gold Cup an event to remember
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to this great event. If you would like to attend, you will be entitled to park in our special display area and will receive free entry for the driver over the weekend (please note that passengers will need to purchase tickets through our website, or at the gate for entry, children under 13 go free).
I will need to submit a list of cars with registration numbers that would like to attend by 13th August
shall we start a list.......

Hum - love to join in but put off by the thought of the dreadful exit traffic queue - bad enough in a modern but unbearable in an old Lotus !
Any clever ways of avoiding, without invoking the 'stay until midnight' option? (eg smart routes, sneaky timings etc)

erm......as youre heading for the display parking there tend to be small queues......but nothing major.....
the main carparks are the ones which get busy and cause the chaos........
cant say that Ive ever been stood still in a great long line of folk for this event...

erm......no
what we tend to do is dish out all the tickets on the sunday.........
and where ever possible give them to people who live near or are in contact with those only coming Monday...
if this isn't possible then we will arrange something else.......
in the past this has been one volunteer (when I haven't been there on the Monday) who has taken the tickets and given our a mobile phone number....and when you arrive.....give them a call and they'll meet you at the gate.......
it has also happened that tickets have been left on the gate but the staff don't like that.....most are really happy people who obviously have better things theyd like to be doing.........so we try to avoid that option....
cheers
