Solex twin 40 carbs

I was at a r?d?rie (flea market, car boot sale) here in France and thought that I had stumbled on a pair of Weber carbs, or maybe Dellortos but no, they were Solex 40 ADD somethingorothers, looked pretty much identical.
The castings said that they were made in Italy.
Anyone come across them or know what they were fitted to?
Have I just missed out on buying the last piece of unobtanium?

some information on Mikuni / Solex PHH side draft carbs - it says:
" ADDHE C40 Solex made in Italy, found on vehicles such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300"

My googling showed up a Porsche 356
At ?100 I was not going to take a punt.
Seller told me they are original Equipment on a Peugeot 106
These looked very very old and tampered with, the aux vent holes were plugged with blobs of ?poxy, there were a couple of hand fabricated inlet manifolds that I would have bought just for inspiration, like most sellers around here his pricing was delusional.
