I have a new project, a 1974 MK1 Escort 1300GT. While it needs some repairs still has the 90% original paint. I'm trying to locate single stage paint in the US. The Ford paint code is 7 and called 'copper brown met' I have started the repairs and will blow in the bottom half, then plan to use the car until I get time to do a full restoration.
I have posted pics
I appreciate any help and information and think there will be knowledge to point me in the correct direction

Hi James
Sorry can't help with paint as I'm in The UK where you can obtain said paint easily! but nice project not many GT's left here in the UK but must be extremely rare in the US? I have a 1972 Sport not as desirable as the RS models but a lot rarer.
What plans do you have for the GT as it shares its DNA with the Twin Cam are you thinking of fitting a Twink?

Try a PPG or Glasurit shop . If you have the code and they have the patience you may be able to match , or take a panel with you . I took a run a ford's Silver Fox Blue , it was formulated in base/clear though - ultimately decided not to use the color . shooting single stage metallic is a pain by the way

Like you say, same DNA already have the Mexico flares installed and the rear repair panels installed. A little Bono but not rubbed down and finished. Picked up a set of 6in minilites. It's beginning to come together.
