Silverstone traffic

Hi there, I have tickets for this year's Grand Prix at Silverstone. Haven't been there for close on 20 years and what sticks in my memory is the traffic chaos/queues both to and from the circuit.
Has anybody had more recent experience and is it just as bad?

Thanks

Martin B

The roads to and from the circuit are much better managed in recent years, but I would suggest using a park and ride scheme for the real easy access to the circuit. Northampton is a good place to Park and ride

You can only park at he circuit if you have bought a carpark ticket, otherwise you have to buy a park and ride ticket.

Hopefully they have it reasonably sorted by now with park and rides.

They certainly have here, took me less than a hour to get home from the Austin race last year. 1/2 mile walk, 10 min bus ride to carpark, ~12 mile drive home on a direct route that didn't involve the major roads that were likely to jam up.

To see any fun / excitement / overtaking you would need to set it for 1970 !! or go to the Moto GP instead
