I was showing her the Street View feature.. we go to our address,, notice my daily driver so I must have been home that day... & then move the viewpoint & voila:

Ian, I had the same shock myself. My ?lan, residing in the garage, was shown in street view with its number plate clear for all to see. I am now anticipating seeing it for sale at a bargain price. Google Earth did respond to my complaint and have now blanked out the number plate. I assume they have some APR type system to automatically eliminate these details which failed to work with the grill mounted ?lan number plate.

The fact that people aren't up in arms over things like this just amazes me. This is akin to being stalked.
This is being done by a private share holder owned company.

At least when governments do this you know who the enemy is. But when a private company is allowed to take pictures of you, your house, your family..................this is crap.

You should be pissed off instead of being pissed on.....................

When I built my home, I went to great pains to shield what I was doing in the garage and shop. My garage/shop is beneath my house and you have to drive down a driveway to enter from the rear. From the street, all you see is the house, the driveways and the mountains in the distance. The closest exposure to Google Earth was when a good friend was over helping with race car, and the aerial view showed his vehicle parked in the driveway, behind the garage doors. Initially, there was a 10 foot extended self supporting deck extending over the garage/shop door entrances. This further shielded what was going on. Now that I have added an additional attached garage area behind the shop section, nothing can be seen of the shop area, even when standing in the driveway behind the house. I love it when a plan comes together.

Google street view were not allowed down our private road but Bing maps show my Sprint on their "bird's-eye view photos and I am in the back garden testiculating at the aircraft!

If I had another brain cell I would perhaps be able to post a screen shot.
