wrong things said condfidently

The best one i've had three "Ok" moments in recent years.

First one was a guy on a stall at a show selling Lotus bits telling me my 1970 Elan Sprint wasn't made by the factory or wasn't a Sprint because they weren't made until 1971 and the S4-Sprint conversion that was a hoax by an unscrupulous car dealer in the 80's........

I had some one else telling me the Rover V8 was designed BY Rover to compete in the US market, would not have it that it was a Buick design bought in.

Then the best one was some one telling me there is no such thing as an Engine with No Pistons even though he was looking right at my Twin rotor Wankel Mazda.

Thing is if you are prepared to argue enough you must be right???

Carrozzeria Touring, Milano, styled the styled the DB4, and by default the DB5. The DB6 was styled by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., Newpeort Pagnell.

Superleggera refers to the method of construction, which was licenced from Touring.

The DB6 departs from the Superleggera construction, and later DB6's didn't have the badges on the bonnet.

Christmas quiz question: which components are shared by both the Elan and DB6?

And which British sports car did they originate from?

Too easy! TR4 before 4A too.

Interestingly(!) on the DB6 the internal half-shield was horizontal towards the top, so directing light down and in the elan it was vertical towards the centre of the car, directing light out; in the Triumphs it was..... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I guess there may alsp be lots of other Lucas bits such as the fuse box lid too. :D
