I can fully recommend going to Vancouver Island, I was amazed by the natural beauty of the area. The ferry ride is great, the seafood awesome & the trees amazing in size...

Here's a couple of photos I took when I picked up my car on the Island in April 2013:

Bill (just posted before me) has an Elan (1600, now called S1 but wasn't when made!) that he has owned for 50+ years!

I also recommend the Vancouver Island and take the ferry, it is lovely.

Just like all places I've been to in the world.....if you are vacation everything seems extra nice. If you stay downtown Victoria on the island, shell out a little extra money and stay at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Usually goes by the "Empress Hotel".

Phil is correct, I live in one of the most lovely places in the world, New Zealand perhaps excepted, I am 50 miles north of Victoria about 15 minutes from either the Nanaimo ferry terminal or airport. As well as my 63 1600 I Have a 72 sprint coupe - Spyder, Zetek project as well as 65 S2 future project.

If you want to see the real west coast - Vancouver is a big city after all - consider a visit here. I have lots of room and if you are as decent a fellow as Phil is I would be happy to extend an invite and acomodaton for a visit.

When were you thinking of coming.?

Perhaps PM me.

Bill

When are you coming?

I'm in Deep Cove at the far eastern end of North Vancouver. Kayaking hiking. Mountain drive up Seymour, Marine drive out to Horseshoe bay.

I fully recommend going to the Island too.

PM me

Cheers

hi all

Thanks very much for all your suggestions and replies. In the end I went to see Bill and his cars on Vancouver island. I did have a great time chatting to Bill.. Many thanks Bill for your time and company, hope to see you at our neck of the woods one day! I took the seaplane over and returned with the ferry. Stunning scenery and the weather was perfect. Lovely series one, I should really add an elan to the family :D
cheers robin
