French Classic Car Insurance

Hello
I wonder if any of our French members would share who they insure their cars with and whether they can recommend them.
I am currently insured with a company who have a problem with the fact the car isn't yet immatricated in France even through hopefully it will be only another two weeks. (I have had to get more paperwork!!! from the USA). Basically I can't drive the car after the 12th. :( :( In my world this behavior is unexceptable and thus when the insurance is up for renewal in September would like to try someone new.
There are also others that when you insure the car with a value, their "Expert" values it 50% higher and then your insurance increases.

Are there any which are OK , a bit more flexible and with a person to talk to or to email.

Thanks

Terry

Salut Terry

I'm insured with Credit Mutuel Enseignant - cheaper than the MAIF where I was before, and they were easy and helpful. Don't know about your particular situation, though - can't remember how long I drove with GB plates - I did the paperwork quite quickly.

Evaluation was by correspondence with Arnaud SENE/Retro Evaluation (cheaper than an 'expert' but limited to 23K? or something like that).

Another specialist is Auto Carantic in Le Mans, and FFVE are partners with ICC Carene.

Thanks for the info. Its funny 30 minutes after posting I received an email from my current insurer to say they were going to : -
Apr?s nouvelle ?tude de votre dossier, nous vous informons qu'? titre commercial et tout ? fait exceptionnel, nous acceptons d'acc?der ? votre demande.
So I am OK until the end of August now which should be OK

Makes you think that big brother is watching

Salut

Translation for non-French speakers:

"titre commercial et tout ? fait exceptionnel" - we're wrong but don't want to admit it (and would prefer you don't tell anyone)

Hi Terry
I use AMV http://www.legende.amv.fr/vehicule-collection/assurance-voiture-moto-collection.aspx

They have a section specifically for classic cars. I think i pay about 330 euros including breakdown cover for a car valued at 15k - expensive compared to the UK. Fortunately i've had no need to call on their services so can't offer any perspective on that.
Regards
Steve

That's who I had the problem with. Luckily now resolved!

There doesn't seem to be many who specialize in Classic cars

Cheers
