There's another 24 cylinders on the other side  :D

No wonder I can't get spare engine parts for my triple.

How about the Lotus 23B "Rotorvic" ? 1.5L V12 one off special from back in the day. Uses Ariel 2 stroke bike engines mated together.

Also a bit of running up the hill on The Garagista's website http://thegaragista.tumblr.com/post/64453257510/lotus23-w-rotorvic-two-stroke

This'll wake you up .. and you can smell it!

True British engineering, runs all day, 10:1 fuel:oil mixture and a lovely wee motor. I have a 1967 version. They have been recovered from months underwater, cleaned out and restarted, then carried on providing excellent service.

Lovely sound, lovely smell!

I think that it must be a regular competitor at Shelsley. I watched & listened to it compete there on a couple of occasions when I was working in the Midlands.
That Lotus 23 is just one of a fantastic array of exotic racers the go up that fantastic hill.

Shelsley is well worth a visit. Amongst other championships on the weekend he Paul Matty hill-climb championship is held there & it attracts a large number of Lotus cars, including Elans of course.

Make a date with Shelsley Walsh this year-----------you won't regret it

I have got one of those, they just run and run.

Just don't lean back on it while its running, rips staright through sleeves etc and is bloody painful :|

H&S would have a bloody great guard over top of it they tried to sell them now.

Chris.

Watching that reminded me of the exposed flywheel on an old Mobylette, here's one with 4 engines stitched together.... a 200cc 4 cylinder Moped no less! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBbXEoqL89A

Ooh that poor little V-Belt primary drive!
The smell of that must be similar to that when I used condoms when I was younger
