Nice Escort you have there. Interesting reading and wish you all the best with it. Back in the day these cars weren't treated with much respect here in Australia. When I was looking for one in the late 80's early 90's I well recall checking out a brown Twin Cam that was being used by a young guy as a Pizza delivery vehicle ! What surprised me too was the high percentage of them fitted with towbars - higher than standard Escorts. What were they thinking? Twin Cam engine = power so must be a great small vehicle for towing !! Around 800 were assembled here locally.

My car still has it's towbar. I'll probably leave it on for posterity. Might even check out how it well it tows !!
