Kilt!? Kilt!?

PostPost by: nebogipfel » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:04 pm

Listening to the radio today ......and this has bothered me previously, but why does Gladys Knight sing "Got a licence to kilt" in the James Bond theme song?

Didn't anybody notice when they were recording it?

I like Gladys and it's a nice song but it's one of those things which once noticed is really irritating.

"... it's one of those things which once noticed is really irritating."

I know what you mean. Trying listening to the Eagles song "Desperado" and hearing the line "You've been out riding fences..." without hearing "You've been outright offensive." now that I've pointed out that that's what you're going to hear.

I axed myself why I did that, but ...

Yes, but "Got a licence to kill" isn't in the past tense.

Bond theme tunes are good at that sort of thing, Ah Hah clearly sing "Comes the morning & the headlice fade away" Don't think that's quite what John Barry had in mind :)

Ed, Gladys Knight is a lovely singer with a lovely voice, as far as I'm aware she's not a member of a street gang. :D

I always hear "headlice" too :D

That said, unless It's the sound rattling around in my empty head Gladys actually puts t on the end every time she sings kill.
