Lotus in trouble

PostPost by: Steve G » Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:24 am

Development of new models on hold as new owner enters a 'lockdown' period.

Oh dear, I did think the new model line up was a bit of a pipe dream but it looks like it might never happen now.

If Cam-morron is on the case that's the end of Lotus for sure!

No doubt the Con-Dems will recall the last time that J Public's millions were lent to a car company with a very strong Norfolk connection. Fred Bushell spent some time at Her Majesty's pleasure after that one and, had he not popped his clogs, Mr Chapman would have done a long stretch too. This had nothing to do with Mr G Arnold, who was incarcerated for quite a different matter, so I'm told.

Oh what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive.

The cars division is not going great with effectively just 2 models at the moment, but the R&D always seems busy doing stuff for the rest of the industry. So the problems will start when the company is divided into cars and R&D and sold individually. The cars will go the way of TVR and the R&D will be bought by Ford and lost inside the machine.

I don't suppose any of us have a New Lotus on our shopping list? Sorry, but I would buy a 911 or even a Boxster rather than an Evora, I'm not sure what I would buy instead of an Elise, maybe an MX5?
Kindest regards

Before anyone comments on my choice of "news"paper... I am a Guardian reader but this was pointed out to me.
