PostPost by: terryp » Thu Feb 16, 2012 9:13 pm

Hello
Just trying to see what tools I need , I went onto Amazon and there are hundreds of brake flaring tools ranging from ?10 to ?300
Anyone any ideas on which one I should buy that will do a complete set of pipes easily

Thanks

Salut Terry

That looks a good tool and quite a good price if it's a quality tool.

I've not much experience but I can tell you the cheap silverline isn't very pleasant to use. You need practice/trial and error to get the appropriate bit of pipe sticking out of the tool, and it twists in your hands because of a lack of rigidity. In my case I only did a pair of caliper pieces and between the master cylinder and servo - that was enough to make my hands sore and wish I'd invested in a better tool.
