Lotus Elan

Disaster- nearly.

Man walks into garage on New Year's Day with list of jobs to do on the Mini; switches on light to discover that the (plasterboard) ceiling has fallen in on his S4SE.

Plies of crap on top of and around the car, loads of dust, timber and small stones (presumably from when the flat roof was replaced ten years ago). Fortunately I had, the day before, been inside the Coupe and had rolled up the dust-cover and left it, and a fleece jacket piled on the roof. This is what the ceiling landed on; after removing all the shite I can't see any damage to the car- phew!

There is a section of remaining ceiling over the Sprint- this will be coming down (in a controlled fashion) tomorrow.

Crikey! What brought it all down? Was it all those "fat b*stard mice", that have been giving you the slip, nesting in the roof space?

As you know I had a piece of timber weighing about 20lbs fall 35ft onto the nose of my Elan from a rooftop :(

The property insurance would have payed to repair/replace the timber, but not damage to the car. Unless, of course, it had been owned by a.n.other in which case they could have claimed against my 3rd party liability.

So I recommend you transfer ownership of both your Elans to me, just in case a tile or some such blows off your roof or you have another ceiling collapse!

You can have both of my Elans; I have Euro-Millions lottery ticket and a good feeling in my water....

No idea why the sky fell in, just one of those fings but I fink the 4 megga-tonne fireworks in Alderley Edge might have had some influence.
