Music RIGHT now...

BBC4 tv is doing a good Simon and Garfunk evening tonight. From next week the 21:00 slot looks good; a series on Brit rock invading America; Beatles, Stones and all that stuff my Grandma told me about.

Not a song or a tune but what has happened or changed to live music PA systems over the years. I wonder if it was the same as my engine/boat/car/plane is bigger/faster than yours or did it really sound better. One of the Employees of Klipsch speakers has been it the trade for a few years and put together this topic. Starts off with the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show.
Paul McCartney's Vox Amp looks positively tiny, lots of changes over the years, maybe you attended some of these concerts and still hear the ringing, I do. Have a look and a laugh. There is an interview with a person in charge of Pink Floyd's Equipment and the changes that were dictated by what they were trying to play at the time. Bigger is better never seems to go out of style.

Have put "The Dark Side Of The Moon" CD on.

Just watched a report about the 40th anniversary of their FIRST live performance of DSOTM at Brighton. The performance was halted during "Money" as the demand from their kit out-stripped what the building (Brighton Dome) could supply!

Richard

EDIT: Just found this report (half way down the page)

The Eagles- thanks to my bi-polar friend over the water.

There's talk on the street, it sounds so familiar.
Great expectations, everybody's watching you.
People you meet they all seem to know you,
Even your old friends treat you like you're something new.

Johnny-come-lately, the new kid in town,
everybody loves you, so don't let them down.

Nick Drake; the Five Leaves Left albumn but the other two will do just as well.

Such a shame he topped himself; back in 74. :|
