Quite happy here thanks with my electric fence, garden alarm beams and fully alarmed house. So far I have only had one car stolen (and I was not in it at the time) one car window smashed (to grab the radio) and two break-ins - lost a lap top, a lot of expensive jewellery and a flat screen TV but they did not get my Dylan CDs or my Lotus memorabilia. And they did not et me :P
You guys are incorrigible !!!

Er, red face, terrible typing (it's the Arabic keyboard, bit confusing) - what I meant to say was 'they did not GET me'

So that's what "incorrigible" means. Thanks Ed...saved me the trouble of looking it up!

WELL RICHARD --If I told her it got so cold some days in winter you have to walk backwards so your nose does not freeze what would she think???? and the 'they ' referred to the towns out West where its so flat a base ball wont roll away and a soccer pitch stretches for miles . A hockey player got a break away 2 years ago and hasn't been seen since :D

Well guess what - in this wonderful warm country of South Africa today we had SNOW in all 5 provinces (including my garden). Second time I have seen it here in 37 years. I am mortified ....

Depends how private your garden is Ed - we can skinny dip in our pool any time ...... Must admit though that the 50c+ I experienced in Saudi was a bit much !

Well my Muse finally made an appearance today. It's a public holiday here (Womens' Day) which means everything is pretty quiet, so I made a start on 'the book' - decided on my chapter headings and started to write. I have just arrived at the offices in Delamare Road for my job interview ....... (exciting stuff) I am about to encounter the infamous RPH ...

What a wonderful thread. Thank you for starting it, Ben, and posting those photos. If you, or others, have more photos of Delamate Road please post them.

And thank you, Maureen. You have made such an interesting contribution, particularly as you have such a personal connection with the works at Delamare Road. The 60s were a unique era. You write very engagingly, and I am sure the book will be a success. Put me on the list for a signed one, please. (And you look great in that photo, too!)

My Elan and I am so far removed from all of you, here in the islands.

Here is a small contribution, the current view of the the Lotus factory and its environs, taken by a satellite. The open spaces at the sides and front of the factory are now occupied.
