The U.S. government will require manufacturers to have average fuel consumption / emissions specifications across their ranges. This if fine for Ford, GM, etc., but may explain why Aston Martin and Lotus have got into the City Car business; Expediency. Which might make a fine Lotus model name, thinking about it!
