Hello,
I posted my first thread under the Elan topic but wanted to introduce myself to the group. My name is Silas and i live in Portland Oregon. If you did not see my first post I recently found a Elan S1 and am very excited about sorting the car with an eye towards keeping the car as original as possible. Several years ago I owned a one owner TC Europa Special that was a real time warp car with only 22K miles. I sold the car in a moment of weakness and poverty to a close friend. He worships the car and thus all is well. I am an avowed car fiend and have very eclectic taste. In addition to the Elan I also have a 1966 Volvo 122, a 1971 Datsun 510, a 1964 MGB and a few others as well. In addition to car restoration I also restore vintage travel trailers, my current completed trailer is a 1947 Westcraft Coranado. For 20 years I worked at Reed College as the Assistant Director of the Cooley Art Gallery and am now self employed. Looking forward to meeting other forum members and learning more from the group.
