Can't ever compete with those lovely collections guys, but the only thing I used to own that I really really really miss, I no longer have the (medical) license to use! Life indeed can be a bitch. I do have some pics around somewhere which I will look out and post up. The other aspect is also the fact that it no longer exists, which is very hard to take in & I still can't believe it. It was a Grumman - American AA5.. G-BASG... Just a simple little 4 seat airplane, but I had nearly 400 hours in it and it took me everywhere for the few years we owned it. It flew the Irish sea twice or three times a month and also did the brave man's route (In a single engine a/p) many times over the North sea to Shetland. It never missed a beat, and I never ever scared myself, Or anyone who flew with me (I hope)...

It was wrecked by an old ex RAF Pilot who failed to get it airborne during an attempted take off from the Isle of Bute.

I understand it is now possible for me to get re certified after my bypass op but at 62 I don't think I should bother...

Not mine yet, My grandfather bought this Wheelhorse 1075 in 1964 and used for a year till he died. My uncle and cousin used it till 1992 to maintain my grandmothers yard and his too. My father brought it out to Massachusetts and has been using it since. The mower deck is a NOS unit I found out in western Pa. in April for $100. The serial number of the deck is 300 units newer than the original. It will probably last until I die or longer. I don't own it yet, as my father is still the proud owner. I have to wait a few more years, he'll most likely out live my sorry ass but you never know.

Beautiful wheelhorse ! My personal favorite is the 1045, the shorter wheelbase and higher ratio steering box are essential if you have a lot of platings in the yard...

There's a Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum a bit north of me (http://www.agsem.com/ and we've done antique bike rides over to spend the day there. They always have a bunch of tractors on display (John Deeres, Fordsons, and others), entire rows of gas, diesel and steam engines, a steam traction engine, and the like. They also have a blacksmithing shop, workshop space rented out to a few artisans, and you can watch them work at a coal forge or using some of the earliest lathes and other machine tools.

Place covers about 50 acres.

No a big stable I'm afraid but this is my 'significant other' There is also a frogeye rotting under a tarpaulin that I'll restore one day.....

Its actualy a BRA . They were the first in the UK to produce an 'AC inspired' car back around 1980. Mine is a copy of a very early Cobra before they grew the muscles. It is almost always taken as 'the real thing' even by owners of 'the real thing'. I've had it since 1995 and its been just great with countless trips round France and Italy.

Here's my hot rod - 1956 Chevy 150 2 door sedan. 454 cu in big block chevy engine, TH400 automatic tranny, 12 bolt rear end. I did all the mechanical and body work, including paint - 20 years ago. Have had the car since the early 1970's. I've included a before photo at the drag strip in 1974 and an after photo taken a couple of years ago. Enjoy!

There is nothing like the sound of a big block. Its been a while since I have had it running. Like all my cars they need more work and the bottomless pit is dried up. Yes its heavy, probably a bit heavier (3600 pounds) than the new to be Lotus Elite but its still fun to mash the throttle on the truck engine and make noise once in a while. christ it might even get 10 mpg on a good day if you were taking it real easy. The carb is just a little holley 650 dp so it dumps fuel in even when your not trying hard. The gearbox is a M21 wide ratio, that's a 2.52:1 first gear, Close ratios are 2.20:1. Funny how on an Elan a 2.51:1 is Ultra close and with a big block that a wide box. I got it in the late 93 and haven't put may miles on it but its a keeper for sure.
