We'll soon let you know what's what, just put some photos up. There are some highly prized bits in the Elan world like steering wheels, cylinder heads, instruments, door frames, chomework, rear light clusters etc. Some bits that look like junk could be quite valuable, and some that look good can be virtually worthless...just depends on model, availability of the parts as reproductions and rarety.

You can "Upload attachment" on your reply. Simply browse for the file and "add the file" and submit. File needs to be a certain size and if its too large, it'll fail and let you know what the size should be.

Do you have a whole car with an ID or just lots of parts?! If you have a whole car, or most of a car, it may be worth trying to sell it as such.
The badges are from a S2 Elan from about 1965 / 1966, and the trim looks to be from a S3 or S4 from 1966 / 1970. Do you know what model cars he had? It will make a difference, especially when describing that trim set to give buyers the confidence they have the right one.
The trim set probably came from Christopher Neil, a Lotus dealer here in the UK. That should fetch a few hundred dollars. The badges, if bought at the same time, are probably originals, and if in perfect condition will get $10 - $20 each, but a fair bit more for the shield / championship ones.
The engine and box, complete with carbs, would fetch maybe ?2000 over here if it's sound, so maybe $3000 or so? It will obviously need rebuilding.
Suspension arms and rear brake callipers have a good value, but the prize you've shown so far is the woodrim steering wheel. That on it's own could be $300 - $600 depending on condition, and assuming it's an original one. Maybe worth putting up a photo of that on its own. The other steering wheel wouldn't be worth much...maybe $50. The instruments could be ?100 or so each, and if there's a black crash pad in good condition, and a metal grille to go with it, that could be $200 - $400 or so, but it will have to be good. It will all add up pretty quickly! Other bits on the dash like the headlamp switch, windscreen wiper switch and heater cable can fetch daft money...maybe $100 each.
If it is a S3 / S4 and you have the door frames, they are also big money at maybe $300 - $400 each depending on condition.
Things like the rusty rotors are just scrap, as they are only $20 or so new.
You probably need to take the bits out of the boxes and photograph them for a more accurate appraisal!

I am sure there are a lot of folks wishing they were in the St. Louis area with a truck and a checkbook right now!
You might want to contact the St. Louis area Lotus club: http://www.stalls-club.org/ They probably have an Elan-knowledgeable member who could help you assess what you have, condition of parts, whether there is a restoration possibility etc.
The S2 badges are currently unavailable in the US and several people on this site have been looking for them. I think that Paul Matty may be making them again in England, but not sure of that.
Good luck with this, and it would be great if all those parts could be assembled into an S2 by someone.

I love the sound of a torque wrench in the morning. Sounds like... progress.

Specifically, put up a photo of the back as well as the front. Does it have studs on the back of the rim or not (I guess not)?
