Very nice -----I could not help noting the number plates ----I NEVER CRITIQUE ANOTHERS CAR ---IT JUST IS NOT MY STYLE AND IT PAINS ME TO DO THIS ---I see one plate is silver WITH black letters [ very similar to one recently sold from Wire Wheel cars] ---the other a standard components tag ---the numbering is stamped and an 'expert' on the list stated the plates were engraved all of them -no question --------------the numbers have the letter R after 26 --another 'expert' and previous owner of 3 cars stated that there was no 'R' IN THE ID plate number --the one has 26R HYPHEN number --the other has 26 hyphen R hyphen number ----------no series number so they are assumed to be series one ---series two was identified as so ----------------------one has an aluminium rad and the other has a steel one as mine does --another 'expert ' states all 26R cars had aluminum rads and thats just a start ----what is going on here ---it would appear there is some serious and uncalled for verbal and venomous diahrea directed my way from some ' expert 's on this list and juding from from the strength of of the pictures here it makes my car genuine as I alway claimed --26R-S2-33-NO QUESTION so BITE ME ' FIRE AT GRIDLY WHEN READY - aim --ed

Nice Pictures , thanks for posting them.
On the topic or radiators and maybe to provide an early radiator spotters guide here is picture of the early Marston radiator circa 64 and a reproduction of the alloy rad Marson created for some racing elans circa 65/66. IMHO The radiator in the gold bug is most likely not original to the car ( the absence of a MFG tag is one give away the other is the welding), ditto the skinny alloy rads.

cabc26b,
I should know better than to answer for Ed but I think he stating exactly the opposite, that the radiator in the Gold Bug is so obviously new that a prize cigar should not be awarded. In the same image we see several non-original items such as the toothed-belt drive for the water pump.
