Well it's nearly that time again, the Plus 2 is up and running and the Megasquirt Fuel injection should be tuned by then, anyone want a look and chat I'll be back at the car at 12:00 for my flask and sanis (hopefully on both days)...now have a different mod on my thermostat housing, fed up of replacing the gasket when I change the thermostat from winter to summer it now has a rubber 0 ring as well as a small filler to top up...much easier
The ABS ECU has been moved to the passenger-side sill pod as is the Megasquirt ECU (drivers side sill pod)with access from inside the footwells it looks a lot less cluttered in the engine bay
Also new for this year are electric lightpod lifters...

Clive, how about someone producing sticky "lotuselan.net" labels with a marker pen, for ones monicka(sp) , available on your stall as a means of recognition? Last years pink carnation and rolled-up trouser leg didn't seem to work (any printers going to Donnington Saturday early?)

John
White plus2
VWW 965F

P.S. Planned for next year...Quaife LSD (No,not what we had in the sixties)

I'm also thinking of going this year (first time for a while) and I wondered if there might be any enthusiasm for meeting up to form a convoy - I'll be driving from Surrey.

Hi John,
should also be there..
If things work out OK will have the ignition running from megasquirt. however will still be keeping the standard system in case!
In fact we could compare the two by swapping afew cables to see what the difference really is! what do you think?

I' still deciding whether to take the Elan or the daily driver.

What route were you planning to take (ie motorway or other roads)?

Paddy

Hi John,

That piston I got off you has fitted in perfectly (thanks again) and I should have the engine back in and running in my +2 by the end of this weekend. I'm hoping to get down to Donnington this year, so I'll look out for you there - or if you fancy a convoy run down there let me know.

cheers

Steve.

Paddy, Hatman, I may be up for a drive, it will depend on commitments closer to the event. I live between Guildford & Woking and would suggest the M40 to the A43 (Silverstone by-pass) then the A5. Maybe be in touch closer to the event.

That route sounds OK to me - I'm in Ottershaw, so we're all pretty close to each other.

Tim,
I always preferred the A446 to the M42; less traffic & quicker.
If you turn off it at Coleshill & head through Shustoke & then on to Atherstone there's aterrific piece of road; all (fast) bends & hills sometimes going through wooded land. "Lotus country".
You could continue north on the A447 but there my experience ends.
Have a good run!

Myself, +2 Rhubarb. Phil, Sprint Pistachio over White and another will be there as usual for both days. Hope to meet a lot of you guys, put names to faces etc. Oil & filter change and some new plugs & points with a dash of TLC here & there.

I'm tempted to fly over for the day but i went last year and was dissapointed by the lack of "classic" representation both in cars and parts.

Will it be better this year do you think?

Cheers
