Hi Ian
I visited Spyder Engineering on the 11th of August. At the time the car was back with them having a few final bits sorted out, it looked very nice, the paint work is superb and was shown on the Option 1 stand at Donnington this year before the car was re-assembled.

Looks like the suspension is set up for off-roading...
That's what puts me off the Spyder chassis - their advert in the Club Lotus magazine shows daylight between the exhaust & centre of chassis i.e. it hangs very low. It won't get far over 'speed' humps like that, unless the suspension is raised to compensate, but that makes it look like a jeep...

I like Spyder as a company as they keep +2's on the road and really these Zetec cars make great stylish daily drivers for people that have not got the knowledge or the time to keep a 30 year old car. A lot more +2's would have been scrapped if Spyder was not around and if you want to spend that much money on a +2?
But, and it is a big but, ?20,000 is a lot of money when you can get a really nice +2 from Paul Matty for ?8,000

This white one looks really nice, now summer is over in the UK + we are in the credit crunch you can pick up some real bargin classic cars, I just have to convince the wife that we need another 30 year old car

Apparently it's now finished. The deputy editor was round at my house doing an article on my baby Elan and he mentioned that they are doing a final article on Jerry's plus 2 in the same edition - I think it will be a month or so away as I only had the darft copy for comment this week.

Any further news about which issue of the magazine will contain the articles?

The filename of the text include the number 145 so I think that is the issue number.
The November issue was 143, so I presume it will be the January issue and my guess is that it will be out middle or late December.
