Lotus 60th

PostPost by: cocky » Sat Aug 30, 2008 11:09 am

Is anyboby who is going to the 60th bash at Lotus prepared to pick me up the commemorative poster which I'm sure Lotus will produce and send it to me in Australia? I'm more than happy to pay all costs and I'd be very grateful as we tend to miss out over here.
Cheers,
Chris

Right ho! One mug, two posters. Anyone else need anything?

I am hoping to get to Hethel around 1230 and shall be very happy to meet up with anyone else who is going, should you wish. I shall be targeting any Sprints with a leaflet drop re my web site.

The sun will shine - I think

From the SELOC Lotus Elise site:

Speed Camera Warning at Hethel event
Just knowing what I know about events at Hethel and the local Police, just be carefull on the following roads which will be speed trapped:

A11, from Elevedon Forrest when you get on the dual carriageway, the Police love the bridges!

Mullbarton Road up to Hethel when you get off the A11, they love the little bends which have nice areas to stand a mobile cameras. Not that anyone will get the chance to get over 20 miles an hour as it will be busy!

The A140 past Diss, nice area for fixed and mobiles

Drive safe chaps.

Cheers

Just got back, the traffic was not good but bought 2 of 1 entry on the gate. Glad I did not pre pay on-line :D

Lots of great cars in the carpark and nice to walk around the factory.
Well worth the ?15 for the 2 adults, we got there about 1pm and left at 5.30pm so lots to see.

Here are a few pics.

I did not see one of these on the Lotus parts list? I am not sure there is room in the back to keep him though?

It was a good day. Very good to be able to see the design studios, workshops, technical department and the Evora story.

I liked the Evora; it is nicely proportioned and seems well thought out and executed. However, I do not see how they can say it is a four seater! Enough room for a small dog lie down on the back 'shelf' and that's it!

I missed the factory tour and Classic Team Lotus as I ran out of time, but it was good to catch up with a few friends who I bumped into there. We managed to miss the awful wait to get in (the A11 car park) by approaching the factory from the east. Apparently people were still waiting to get in at 2.30pm.

Chris and John

I am sorry to say that I did not spot any 60th posters or mugs. There were plenty of Evora branded goodies, though.

I may just have missed them; it might be worth contacting the PR department at Lotus to ask if they produced anything. E-mail Caroline Parker at [email protected]

Hi Tim,

never mind but thanks for making the effort on our behalf.
I do miss being in GB when these sort of events take place

That's a nice looking Elite in the Photo's. I think I've seen it at Castle Combe before.

Old Oakie!

Thanks for your kind wishes Gene; it is nice to be back :D

Cheers
John
