The Colin Chapman Museum & Education Centre

PostPost by: trw99 » Wed Sep 19, 2007 12:28 pm

I have just come across this site and thought listers might be interested, as I can only find a short posting on here about the intention to set up a Chapman museum from back in 2005:

http://www.colinchapmanmuseum.org.uk/Index.htm

I think that this museum deserves our support and I have become a 'Friend of the Museum'.

Knowing one of the gents who takes a keen interest in this setup, I know that things are continuing to move on regarding this - It's mainly guys in the HLR who are closer to what's going on. As ever, funding rears it's ugly head.

For those who wish to know more follow the links including the one "John Scott-Davies' talk...." that refers to April this year.

Does anyone here know anything about the people working on this museum?

I know that Prize won't be heading in my direction because I won't even try an attempt at it
I think the Editor wants to keep the prize for himself

Come on, John. Even I can remember how much a pint was in 1971.

OK, the rest is pretty tough.....

When they told me they were going to put that in the quiz (a bit of collaboration with Kim Atthelimit with the Photo) I hazarded a guess at 2/6p; or had we just gone Decimal & I don't think I'm even right on that one
C'mon how much then
John.

P.S. I'm sure the Date 1971 (Year of Decimalisation) is wrong because I went to meet a Holiday Romance in London, who I met in Majorca (18-30  )
We met up in the evening at a great Pub in Wapping Wharf but at Lunchtime I went to Pub Lotus & that was 1969; the year of
the Moon Landing which took place when we were in Majorca.

P.P.S. You were drinking under age then? :D

I just had a little chuckle at this:-

"An eagle eyed reader has noticed an error in the quiz?
From: Deleted
Sent: Friday, December 11, 2009 10:19:55 PM
To: undisclosed recipients
Elio de Angelis finished third not as runner up in the championship.
My apologies".

And I'm still working on the "price of a Pint"

From what I've read I think everyone that drove the Lotus 40 felt that way. I've seen the comment attributed to both Mike Spence and Jim Clark if I remember right.

You're right, I dug deeper into the library, one book said "some wag" and another attributed the quote to Richie Ginther. Sheesh, I missed one question twice! Am still working on several others before submitting.. tough quiz!
