Are you younger than your Elan?

What are the limits of younger/older than your Elan?

So far, 30 years older seems to be the best (I'm at 29, and there were 27, 25, 24 and others) for the older difference. Hard to say what the limit could be!

For younger, the limit probably is for a '62 owned by an 18 year old for 29 years younger.

The limits are determined by the members of this web site.

I'm about to turn 30. Bought my '69 S4 when I was 25. It's a ball to work on and drive compared to more modern, heavier machines!

How interesting. I've never met anyone younger than me with an Elan, so this makes me quite happy. I am just under ten years younger than mine: '67-'77.

I lost my virginity before my Elan was "born."

But then, I always was a precocious sort.

Never met anyone younger than me with a classic Lotus either. I'm three years younger than my S4, 68' and 71' almost to the month, Oct and Sept respectively. Had my first Lotus at age 24, S2 Europa purchased in 95'. Haven't met any owners of classic Lotus younger then me since.

I had my first classic car when I was 24 and lived in the US. But it did seem more common there for young people to have old cars, especially muscle cars, than it does here.

A lot of classic car owners I meet, including my father in law, say that they want the cars they admired when they were kids. But I grew up in 80's Yugoslavia so that would mean I'd have to aspire to Wartburgs, Ladas, and Fiat 126s...

Hi all,

I am 16 years older than my 67 Elan, I fit in the category of wanting what I admired when i was young but could not afford the next car was an Austin Healy BJ8 but i think I have the better of the two cars.
