Hello Dollies

I am sure I am not the first to do this but after exhaustive strength of materials, moment of inertia calculations etc. (actually did exactly zero of that) :) used a galv. fence post (2” sq x.064 wall) sitting under my deck for ten years to make an easier lift for putting the car on and off the dollies used at the least for off season storage. High tech indeed with a 3 deg outboard draft on the spruce. :D At 2” barely clears with my tire/jack/dolly/exhaust combination but didn’t want a heavy piece of structural steel. Picks up on the bit at the rear of the arm just outboard of brake disk.

Nice. I'm doing something very similar using an old DOT (Dept of Transportion) sign post. It's going
to be very heavy but keeps it low profile. I want to clear the exhaust and keep the weight of the car
on the outboard supports only.
