Colin Chapman Signed Steering Wheels

PostPost by: lotusfan » Wed May 19, 2004 7:18 pm

What is the story behind the steering wheels with Colin Chapman's signature? Were they fitted to all our toys originally or were they an option or only fitted to some cars?

I think they were only fitted as standard on the Sprints and the later +2's from about 71/72. I dont think they were ever fitted to the Europa's unless they were on the Federal version?

They were fitted on all the S4 and most S3 as well.

My derelict but original (but not for long!) 1968 Elan +2 has one.
Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.
