26r bump stops

How long should my (vw) aons on rear dampers have to be?
I have adjustable springs and full 26r spec with 5" ride hight.
My bump stops are 5 cm long and there is 3 cm open space left until they touch the damper nut.
I read of the aons to have 7 cm lenght but then there would only remain 1 cm. until they touch the nut.
Does anyone have an Idea?
Regards Christian

I used Porsche 924 bumps, but I ordered a few different ones from different companies at the time.
My findings were that they are all different, some softer, some longer….

I am sure someone with 26 setup will have something to offer

not precisely, but what I would also consider regarding the desired effect (which will remain to be tested and approved on the track) is the spring stiffness vs. free length before Aeon starting to come in effect. I would think the stiffer the springs the longer the piece of Aeon and the shorter the free travel before they come into effect... in any case I suppose this is pretty fine tuning, most likely other effects will drive lap time before this (Aeon length - also considering that original Aeon are pretty soft and non conical so not as "progressive" as these)

Thanks fot your thoughts.
I forgot to mention that it is a road and hillclimb car for bumpy road surfaces with 26r setup and not for tracks.
I am generally satisfied with its handling.
I will first try a 7/8 front rollbar instead of the 11/16 what I wanted to go for anyway. Then I will see if the rear end behaves well with the bumps stops with 3 cm free space.
Cheers Christian
