Steering wheel nut tirque

From practical experience I just tighten it 'snug' (i.e. not super tight) using a 3/8" ratchet handle, giving it just a tug after the nut is fully seated. This is a tapered joint, backed up by splines, and I've never had one loosen up in use. If it's over torqued, it can be very difficult to remove the wheel at a later date.

When I removed mine five years ago, probably the first time since the factory put it there, I needed a stout 3-jaw puller to get it loose. When it came time to re-install the wheel a few years later I put a very light coat of anti-sieze on the taper to prevent needing the stout puller next time. Nut got just nicely snugged, no gorilla-torque required.
