Noticed the front pads on the Sprint will need replacing soon but not sure if any are better than others.

Rockauto has a good selection, not to mention good prices.
Any suggestions from the following list ?
I'm still running a servo.

Personally I would stick to recognised pad manufacturers.

Bosch, AC Delco and Raybestos options listed on the Rockauto site are all very reputable brands with a lot to loose if they marketed something shoddy. I wouldn't hesitate especially if it's for a road car.

I've bought Peugeot parts direct from Rockauto previously and and that was always a good experience even with shipping to Australia involved.

Cannot get my greenstuff to quit squealing. Perhaps it is marketing that says, "Greenstuff!"

You can virtually guarantee that anything with a name such as "Greenstuff" has some two pot fly by night shonky business with no proper R&D capacity behind it. I'd have much more faith in a product with a business name such as Bosch or AC Delco behind it.

EBC at least make their own pads as far as I am aware ( but probably under contract in China maybe !!). personally I don't like them as the dust they leave is more corrosive than most in my experience though they worked well in terms of braking effect.

I doubt that either Bosch or AC Delco are actually manufacturing pads for 50 year old English Girling calipers in their own plants either but will also be buying in from contract manufacturers in China or India... the Rockauto prices suggest this. Perhaps their specifications and quality control is good and perhaps they just buy on price for a small volume pad to fill out their product line to keep their accountants happy ... who knows.

I have tried lots of pads in my time and written previously about what I would recommend and why in various circumstances

I have EBC greenstuff on the road Elan and wouldn't use them again. I don't like the feel.
The GTS has CLs which are ace, but that is another world.
I think I'd look at Mintex next time around for the road car.

The requirements for a road car are completely different to a car used on the track. Disc wear, pad wear, braking performance when cold and meeting regulatory requirements in particular aren't major considerations for a track car. Bosch and AC Delco supply OEM's. EBC might be better for a track car but I'd also have full confidence in brands such as Bosch being able to supply an excellent all round pad suited for general use on road. Paying more doesn't necessarily mean better particularly when there's lots of marketing involved.

If Bosch have sold that business you can be fairly certain that the pads will no longer be labelled "Bosch". The ones listed on the Rockauto website may no longer be available or old stock. Plenty of other reputable brands listed by Rockauto - eg. Raybestos or AC Delco. Aside from the usual Bendix, Akebono is also great quality if you can get them. They supply the Japanese OEM's.

Ferodo DS2500 are an expensive, but excellent, option...were they road legal.

I’ve used Greenstuff on my Elise for years. Great feel and great redardation but I hear they’re to soft for the track.

I have used the Posi-Quiet Ceramic product on my BMW X5. They have been a good pad with very little dust.
CENTRIC 10500440 Posi-Quiet; Ceramic, as per your link.
I got them from another US seller, when I opened the box, they were marked "Made in Australia" !!

I presently use these on the front of my '68 S4 DHC. Unservoed.

About $60 for a set of 4 pads. Probably available in NZ.

Thanks Colin, ( and others of course), but I actually had some Bendix pads years ago and they were the only pads I've taken out to replace with something else.
Under hard use they smelt really bad, and they faded !
It was before the proliferation of pirate crap out of India so I'm pretty sure they were genuine.
They now get cut up to use as replacement material for the handbrake.
I have a bit of time yet so I'll ponder Rockauto's selection, and possibly get an oil filter or two also !
