Great day
Hoping someone has a tie rod they could measure please, so as to see the size of the boot.
I am hoping to use energy suspension boots, as the new Lucas rubber ones crumbled right away.

"Measuring for Dust Boots
universal dust boot mounting diagram
Measure your Tie Rod End or Ball Joint to find the exact dust boot that will fit your part.

Dimensions A and B: The polyurethane is flexible and will stretch slightly. Energy Suspension's recommendation appears to be to use a part that is approx 0.5-1.0 mm smaller than the diameter you need. Example: If your OEM part measures 12mm then you would use a boot approx 11.5mm - 11mm in diameter at that dimension. This ensures a good tight fit that will seal correctly.
Height Dimension: Proper Height will ensure the boot stays seated when installed. It is a measurement of the entire boot, top to bottom."

Those are produced by multiple suppliers and look visibly different. You would be best served to measure your own.

Yes, I will and I will post results.
I do not see differences when I search on the internet though.
Same for ball joint boots.
As I understand it, and based on my experience with "modern" boots and many things these days. Is they are not quality. Who knows if energy suspension is or not. I have on my shelf today the

Replacement Ball Joint Dust Boots, Polyurethane 9.13130

Pin Opening Diameter Base Opening Diameter Height of Boot Piece Number
18.55mm (0.73 inch) 41.25mm (1.625 inch) 27.75mm (1.092 inch) 13009

I have also ordered some others, but they all seem huge.

Assuming these measurements are correct, and I have no reason to think they're not, do you reckon these would work ?
The price is right, and unlike most in the UK they won't be wanting 70 quid, ( or something equally ludicrous), to send them to me.....

As nobody said yea or nay I took a, (small), gamble and got some.
Normally live on a tractor apparently.

Top very slightly too big but a bit of tie wire snugged it up fine.
Thought I'd have to borrow, buy, or cobble up a tie rod separator but was pleasantly surprised to find a small two legged puller fitted and worked well.
Looked a bit dry, though unworn, so worked some heavy oil in and re-packed with grease.
Not sure if it's my imagination but a test drive suggests the steering is even lighter, and easier, than before....!

Sorry I missed this.
Good news then!
